PRIVATE LESSONS AT WSC
WSC has professional coaches that are qualified to teach beginners
as well as advanced players. Whether the goal is learn fundamentals
or polish existing skills, we have the right coach! Private, semi-private
and group instruction in volleyball is available, as well as sport-specific
strength and conditioning for individuals or groups.
Lesson Fee:
- $40.00 per hour for private instruction
- $30.00 per hour for a semi-private (group of
2-3)
- $20.00 per hour for a
group lesson (4 participants)
**There will be an additional annual registration
fee of $30 (additional information below), good for all WSC programs
for one year.
***You must cancel your lesson 2 days in advance without being charged!
How
to Sign Up for Private Instruction
The procedure for signing up for private lessons is as follows:
- Have a date and time in mind
- Call Willowbrook Sports Complex
at 281-807-0055
- Speak to Scott Mayew or leave a message
- At your first
session you must pay a registration fee of $30.00 on your daughter
or son when you come in for the lesson.
This registration is good for one year at WSC and will
allow them to participate in any of our events throughout that
year.

Coaches on Staff
Scott Mayhew - WSC Volleyball Director
Scott Mayhew, Training Director
for Willowbrook Sports Complex, attended the University of Texas from
1980-1984 where he majored
in Marketing and played on the men’s volleyball team. In 1985
he coached Austin Juniors first 18’s team at Junior Olympics
in St. Joseph, Missouri. That same year, Scott coached the Austin
Levy USAV team to the Open Nationals in Uniondale, New York. In 1985,
Scott was an assistant coach at the University of Houston and founded
Houston Juniors, the first multi-team junior club in the Houston
Area. He directed Houston Juniors from 1985-1987 and coached its
oldest team to Junior Olympics in St. Paul, Minnesota in 1986 and
Albuquerque in 1987. After working on a graduate degree in Biomechanics,
Scott took over as the Head coach at Louisiana Tech University. He
was named the Sunbelt Coach of the Year in 1992 and produced numerous
All-Conference Selections including the Sunbelt MVP in 1993. At Division
III Southwestern University, Scott’s team won two conference
championships and went the NCAA Tournament three times in four years.
Scott was also SCAC Coach-of-the-year in 1997. His career coaching
record is 220-110. Scott has worked camps for two past USA Olympic
coaches and was selected to coach the 2000 USA Developmental Camp
in Dallas and hosted the 2001 USA Developmental Camp in Houston.
